Houston, I’m seeing double…triple?: Frequently Used Words In YA Titles

Genres are what they are for a reason: they appeal to certain demographics and sell books. Young Adult, New Adult (I know this isn’t an official genre yet but dang it, it needs to be), Adult, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Romance…the list could go on and on.

A lot of the genres fall victim to deja vu titles…where you scratch your head and wonder if you’ve read that book before or not.

Today’s top ten Tuesday features the 10 most used words in YA titles.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Guys, this was literally the easiest thing to do EVER. To make it harder on myself, I limited it to only books I’ve read. I did this going to my goodreads books, and searching keywords through the “search my books” bar. Even then, it was a piece of cake. I have my top ten, and one really satisfied two of the words chosen, and then a runner-up category because I could have listed books for days.

any other words you can think of that are overused in YA titles? I could think of a few more “Heart, End, Ever, Magic…” But I already went over my ten choice limit, haha!

Happy Reading!
